This week I found some amazing things and couldn’t wait to share them with you!
Cat Eye Sunglasses
My last pair of sunglasses met an unfortunate demise when I sat on them at a bonfire night… So, I needed a replacement. I found these really cute cat eye sunglasses made by Aero at the Seeds of Hope thrift store –for $1! I think they are super cute. 🙂
Contemporary Swing Jazz
I found myself in a bit of a music rut and started looking for a new genre of music to listen to. Yesterday I stumbled across some modern renditions of 1930’s-1950’s swing jazz songs, and I fell in love! I love the bands Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Two Man Gentleman Band, and Royal Crown Revue. I particularly like “Why Me” by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. 🙂
I love Indian food. One of my favorite parts of an Indian dish is the naan –a beyond delicious flatbread. As I meandered around Wal-Mart, I stumbled across some naan crisps, and snagged a bag right up! They go great with my hummus. 🙂
I have a bunch of posts lined up for this week, including my recent trip to Canada! So stay tuned for more. 🙂
Hallelujah! Spring has finally made it to Bismarck! While I am grateful for the reprieve this winter, I love to see everything turn green and come alive. The trees have started blooming around our apartment complex and they smell amazing. I looked outside, saw the sunset and knew I had to take some pictures. Ben, my awesome husband and camera man, was happy to help me out. 🙂
Today’s outfit was a bit more “new” than usual… if you can call it that. 🙂 I bought my flats back in 2012, and they are still going strong! I like the get the most wear out of my clothes as possible. I bought the shorts on clearance last year at Old Navy, and I love how comfy they are. I bought the necklace last week -it was 75% off at One World Boutique. So, I’m not exactly showcasing my thrifting skills today. That said, my outfit still comes out to a pretty low price.
My Outfit Deconstructed:
- Green Shirt: Part of $1 Digger Bag, Thrifted (Maurices)
- Shorts: $6, New (Old Navy)
- Leopard Print Flats: $10, New -back in 2012! (Payless Shoes)
- Green and Gold Necklace: $3, New (One World Boutique)
I had to take a picture by my awesome car. I got her last year after my Suzuki Sidekick had a heart attack. She’s a little Ford Escape, and I love how I can spot this car from two parking lots away. A vibrant car deserves a vibrant name, so I call her Saffron. 🙂
The sunset really was beautiful and I’m glad I got out to enjoy the lovely weather. It never manages to amaze me just how magical spring is. Even when I see the same trees and the same flowers each year, they still manage to take my breath away.
(Note: These pictures were taken on May 6th. It took me a while to actually share them here at Dana Maye.)
