Here’s a fun look -somewhere between casual and Sunday formal, this look has the perfect mix of retro silhouettes and bold, faux jewel bling. I love this look, and would wear it to a date, luncheon, or on one of those days where I just want to dress nice for no apparent reason. And of course, I added in a cute cardigan to help compensate for the frigid autumn winds!
I have to admit that I am a sucker for vintage and retro fashion -especially that of the 1950s. I especially love the t-shirt dresses and full-skirt swing dresses. So, I thought, why not make a fun polyvore post about them? Four of the five dresses can be found on Amazon, and the shoes can all be bought at ModCloth. And if you’re looking for a fun and classy Halloween costume, why not try a retro 1950s look?
So, which dress is your favorite?
If you’ve read from my blog before, you know that I love color. What you may not know is that I also love vintage. That being said, I care more about the vintage look rather than its authenticity. So, here, I have some “neo-vintage” items. I have tights with polka dots, a pair of metallic pointy toe pumps, hot pink leather gloves, a pair of vintage-looking earrings, and more (I’m sure you don’t need me to repeat the picture for you). If you are toying with the idea of adding vintage to your wardrobe, make a splash with “old-fashioned” silhouettes in “new” colors.
So, this is my lovely new bathing suit that my mom-in-law, Patty, bought me. I absolutely love it! It was $20 at Ross, and it’s very flattering. Now, I’m a one-piece kind of gal, so this swimsuit is perfect for me. I also love the color -the violet, yellow and mint are a fun combination, and the flowers are cute.
I like the sweetheart neckline -it looks great on me, without being too revealing for my personal taste.
The sides have an additional supportive elastic band, which helps keep the swimsuit in place, and makes it comfortable.
I love the ruching that goes down the middle. I was surprised at how much it enhances my appearance. I’ve seen side ruching, but this adds a fun twist.
And here’s a view of the back. As you can see, there are supportive cups inside the bathing suit. Also, the lower cut is nice and modest, and the back silhouette has a nice shape to it. Now that Ben just received his swim trunks in the mail, I’m excited to go swimming with him. 🙂
