What I Think About… Maybelline The City Mini Palette In Chill Brunch Neutrals

I decided to pick up a new eyeshadow palette! I know some women prefer larger palettes with a great color selection, but I prefer smaller, more portable palettes. Today’s eyeshadow is one of Maybelline’s City Mini Palettes -this one is the Chill Brunch Neutrals palette.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed in the fourth and fifth shades, the bronze and gunmetal shades. While they showed up metallic in a finger swatch, the colors were barely noticeable on my lids with a brush. That said, I love the cream, the rose gold, the lilac and the plum shades. They are all very pretty.

Here is the super natural look I created, using the rose gold and plum shades.

If you’re looking for a palette with a huge punch of color, this is not the palette for you. If, however, you are looking for a palette that is super natural and perfect for daytime looks, you’ll probably enjoy this little rendition. I know I will be getting some use out of it!

My Secret Weapon… Aquaphor Healing Ointment!

Aquaphor Advanced Healing Ointment

With the harsh winters in North Dakota, my hands become cracked and chapped very quickly. I have tried several products, and found a clear winner -Aquaphor Advanced Therapy Healing Ointment.

The ointment has no fragrance or dyes, which can irritate chapped skin. Unlike a lotion that quickly sinks into the skin, this ointment is greasy and takes a while to sink in. Don’t let this deter you though. It really works!

It takes only a couple days to restore my hands to good condition, and works great as a preventative measure. I like to apply it at night before I go to bed.

This may not be the most glamorous product to review, but sometimes you need a workhouse product to do the job. If your hands get chapped like mine, definitely try this out!

You can get the ointment on Amazon for $6.33.
