I finally buckled down and went to Clinique to see if I could find a better foundation. One of my biggest gripes about buying from the convenience/grocery store, is that you can’t try it before purchasing. And yes, you can return it to try a different shade, but there’s always the embarrassment factor that’s hard for me.
When I went to the Clinique counter at Macy’s, I was matched with the Super Balanced Foundation in Petal, which was the shade I was matched up with online – you can read the Clinique Photo Chat post to see more. It was a good experience. And, I received a foundation brush and a trial size CC cream as well as a gift (although the CC cream is 2 shades too dark -I’ll have to find a home for it).
And, I personally love it. Does it cover up all of my blemishes? Well, no, but I really think I just need to change my skin care routine. Does it go on smoothly, match my skin, and help me feel better about myself? Yes, yes it does! I guess I’d give it a 4 out of 5, but this score may improve if I continue to like it. I really just don’t want to give it an overly high rating just yet, without trying it for a couple weeks first. Here are the pictures:
(In case you are wondering, I’m also wearing Elf Studio HD Blush in Super Star, the lightest shade of the Elf Essential Golden Goddess Eye Shadow Palette, Elf Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara in Black, Elf Essential Lipstick in Seductive, and the Wet ‘n Wild Eyeliner in Black.)
