Today I am reviewing Rimmel’s Stay Matte Fix & Go Setting Spray.
Sigh. This a product that I had high hopes for. It promises to mattify skin, as well extend the wear of my makeup. As far as I am concerned, it did absolutely nothing besides dry my skin out and make it feel sticky. My makeup lasted the same amount of time, and if anything, my skin looked shinier. Also, the nozzle didn’t spray evenly. I was disappointed, as other people reviewed it highly on Amazon. Unfortunately, my experience was not the same.
If you are looking for a good setting spray, I would recommend either Wet ‘N Wild’s Photo Focus Matte Setting Spray, or if you don’t mind spending a little more, Urban Decay’s All Night Setting Spray.
And so the search continues!
Price: $5.97, Walmart
Verdict: Bottom of the Waste Basket!

From my recent shopping trip, I decided to try out a new eyeshadow palette by Rimmel. I bought it along with a liquid lipstick.
There are several Rimmel Magnif’Eyes eyeshadow palettes. I chose the Spice Edition. You can buy it on Amazon for $7.97.
I love the shades in this palette. They are warm browns, rose golds and a couple of plums. Perfect for my hair and eye color!
A couple of the mattes are a little patchy, as you can see in the swatch picture. But overall the mattes are buttery. And the metallics! They are so pigmented and reflective!
Here is a look I created from the eyeshadow palette.

When I spotted this little beauty at the store, I knew I had to go back and get it. And boy, I’m glad I did – it was the last one on the shelf when I came back today!
The NYX Love Lust Disco Foil Play Eyeshadow Palette in Let’s Groove is part of NYX Cosmetics’ 2019 Holiday collection. It is a palette made completely of glittery metallic shades. Perfect for the holiday season!
You can buy this eyeshadow palette at Ulta for $10. (They also have two other palettes in the collection -Get Down and Do the Hustle.)
The eyeshadow palette is part of my Drugstore Makeup Wishlist blog post.
Here are the swatches. The colors are bronze, gold, blue, green, silver and black.
As you can see the blue, green and black shades are more pigmented than the bronze, gold and silver. The lighter shades would work great as toppers.
The texture is somewhere between a powder and a cream
Here’s my first look -I used the bronze and gold eyeshadows to achieve this look. This look is right up my alley!
The second look uses the blue and green eyeshadows. I was way out of my comfort zone with this one, but I like how it turned out! It’s very festive.
The last look is a smoky eye with the silver and black shades. Let me tell you, the black was so pigmented it was tricky to work with! But with some concealer, I was able to clean the look up nicely.
Which look do you like the best? Comment below!
