Take A Peek At My April Empties!

Drugstore Empties April 2020 1

I have been saving up my empties for a few months, and now I finally have enough for a post! Today, I have some hair care, skincare, makeup, and others.

Garnier Whole Blends Honey Treasures Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner

Drugstore Empties April 2020 2

My first two items are a shampoo and conditioner that I love. This is my second time purchasing, and it smells sooo good! It keeps my hair healthy, and the shampoo suds nicely. I am using a new shampoo and conditioner duo next, to shake things up again, but I will definitely be repurchasing these little babies.

I originally wrote a blog post on this Garnier Shampoo and Conditioner when I first purchased.

Price: $5.49 (Value Size) at Walmart

Verdict: A Budget Beauty Must Have!

Spring Valley Adult Gummy Prenatal Vitamins

Drugstore Empties April 2020 3

This is more of a wellness product than a beauty product, but I wanted to include these vitamins because I love them so much. I love that they have DHA in addition to the usual Folic Acid. The flavors are orange, lemon and strawberry, and are delicious. I like prenatal vitamins, because they are a lot easier on my stomach than traditional vitamins. I definitely recommend!

Price: $7.88, Walmart

Verdict: A Wellness Musthave!

Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser

Drugstore Empties April 2020 4

I got this cleanser as part of a Sephora birthday gift set. This… was a decent cleanser. It definitely cleaned my face well, and didn’t dry it out. That said, I wasn’t wowed. And for the price, I expect it to be way better than a drug store cleanser. I actually prefer the Cetaphil Cleanser that I am using currently. So, would I purchase? Probably not.

Price: $32 (5 oz), Sephora

Verdict: Meh, It’s Okay…

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water

Drugstore Empties April 2020 5

This is my second time repurchasing this micellar water. I like using this for removing my eye makeup, as it doesn’t irritate my eyes, which a lot of makeup removers do. It also works well with removing liquid lipsticks. While I love this micellar water, I am interested in trying a cleansing balm to remove my makeup. That said, if you are into micellar waters, this is definitely a good bet.

Price: $6.96, Walmart

Verdict: A Budget Beauty Must-Have!

L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation

Drugstore Empties April 2020 6

This is my go-to foundation! I originally reviewed this L’Oreal Foundation back in January. I am on my third bottle now, and don’t plan on changing foundations any  time soon. I love how it makes my complexion look even, but doesn’t cake or get heavy. It also lasts most of the day. It works great for normal to dry skin. If you have combo or oily skin, I would recommend the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation, which I reviewed in October 2018.

Price: $11.96, Walmart

Verdict: A Budget Must-Have!

Crest 3D Stain Eraser Toothpaste

Drugstore Empties April 2020 7

I grew up with Arm & Hammer toothpaste, but decided to try a whitening toothpaste. It worked well as a toothpaste, but I did not see any whitening results. If you are looking for some teeth whitening, I would recommend some whitening  trays from your dentist. Sometimes, a professional is exactly what you need for results.

Price: $2.97, Walmart

Verdict: Meh… It’s okay.

And that’s it for for today’s empties post! I love writing these posts, because I think it is more helpful to see a review on a completely used up product, than on a first impressions post. I hope you found it helpful as well!

My Little Workhorse …Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser for Oily Skin!

Cetaphil Daily Cleanser Oily Skin

Sometimes the best working products come in humble packaging. Today’s product, the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser for oily skin, is one of those little hidden gems.It does a great job of deep cleansing my skin without stripping the moisture. It also deep cleans without causing redness or irritation, like a lot of facial cleansers do to my sensitive skin. It definitely takes off all of my face makeup. (I use Garnier Micellar Water for my eye makeup.)

It has a nice clean, unisex scent, that isn’t too overpowering, so it’s great for guys and gals. It was recommended to me by my dermatologist, and I would say she knows her stuff. 🙂

What I also love is that this doubles as a great brush and beauty sponge cleaner! It definitely cleans my beauty sponge better than regular hand soap, and even some brush cleaners I have tried. I love products that go double duty.

I definitely recommend!

What I Think About … Freeman Glacier Water + Peony Face Mask!

Freeman Glacial Water Peony Face Mask

Here is the last installment of my Freeman face mask series! I decided to try out five of the $1.32 face masks that you can buy at Walmart. You can read the other posts below:

I Tried… Freeman Matcha Icecream Face Mask!

I Tried… Freeman Neon Vibes Peel Off Face Mask!

Pamper Yourself With … Freeman Watermelon Face Mask!

It’s Self Care Time With … Freeman Rose Gummy Bear Mask!

Today’s face mask is a thin, blue tinted gel cream. When I used it, it spread across the skin nicely, and dried down to a sticky finish. I wish I could say it was a miracle worker, but it wasn’t. It left my skin feeling exactly the same afterwards, and I noticed some initial redness that went away after about ten minutes. It did smell nice, so I suppose that is a plus…

So far, out of all the masks I have tried, I liked the Watermelon face mask the most. It smelled nice, was cooling on the skin, and left my skin nice and soft. The second runner up was the Rose Gummy Bear mask. Although I didn’t like the smell as much, it left my skin nice and hydrated. As for the others, including today’s face mask, I wasn’t too impressed.

If you are looking for a nice, cheap way to pamper yourself, this could be a good bet, depending on which one you choose. That said, if you are looking for real results with your face masks, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

That’s all for today. Stay safe, my beautiful friends!

Spinning Class -My New Love!

I have been going to my local gym for the past 5 weeks, and am having a blast. I have tried out several fitness classes -cardio dance, pilates, barre, water aerobics, yoga and cycling/spinning. One of my favorite classes is spinning class!

The workout is super intense, but the endorphins I feel afterward are so worth it. I leave drenched -and happy. I feel proud of myself, knowing that I pushed myself and took care of my body.

A Few Tips:

  • Work your way into the class. Teachers will push you hard, and the class can be super competitive. Make sure, however, that you don’t push too hard, especially if you are just beginning. Injuries can happen if you work too hard too fast.
  • Have your instructor help you adjust your bike to your body. I didn’t do this, and my hand went numb as a result (my handlebar was too low, and I was placing all my weight on my hands.) Now, having the right settings, I am getting a more efficient workout, and my hands feel fine.
  • Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated!
  • Also, bring a hand towel to mop your face and keep the handlebars dry. You will sweat a lot.

If you are looking for an effective workout, cycling/spinning fitness class is a great choice!

My Favorite Candy Bar -Cadbury Crunchies!

I figured I would take a short break from makeup and talk about one of my favorite things in the world -chocolate!

Ben and I discovered an amazing candy bar when we bought a UK sampler of Cadbury chocolate -it’s called the Crunchie bar. It’s basically honeycomb dipped in chocolate. It may sound a little strange if you haven’t had one before, but I assure you -it’s delicious!

Here are a couple of links if you would like to try one:

Let me tell you, they are quite the treat! 🍫🍫🍫

Cute Dollar Tree Find!

I found this cute little notebook at Dollar Tree! ❤️🍣🍥🍣❤️ Dollar Tree has some great finds if you’re willing to look!

Sushi is one of my all-time favorite foods. I have fond memories of getting sushi with my dad, as well as with friends in college. I think food has a unique way of bringing people together. ❤️

I plan on using this notebook either as a journal once I have finished up my current one, or as a recipe book. Which use do you vote for? 🙂

What I Think About… Maybelline The City Mini Palette In Chill Brunch Neutrals

Maybelline The City Mini Pallete Chill Brunch Neutrals 1

I decided to pick up a new eyeshadow palette! I know some women prefer larger palettes with a great color selection, but I prefer smaller, more portable palettes. Today’s eyeshadow is one of Maybelline’s City Mini Palettes -this one is the Chill Brunch Neutrals palette.

Maybelline The City Mini Pallete Chill Brunch Neutrals 2

To be honest, I was a little disappointed in the fourth and fifth shades, the bronze and gunmetal shades. While they showed up metallic in a finger swatch, the colors were barely noticeable on my lids with a brush. That said, I love the cream, the rose gold, the lilac and the plum shades. They are all very pretty.

Here is the super natural look I created, using the rose gold and plum shades.

If you’re looking for a palette with a huge punch of color, this is not the palette for you. If, however, you are looking for a palette that is super natural and perfect for daytime looks, you’ll probably enjoy this little rendition. I know I will be getting some use out of it!

e.l.f. Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow in Disco Queen

Elf Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow Disco Queen 1

Today’s post is about the e.l.f. line, called Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow. I picked up this little baby for $5 at Walmart, which is a great price compared to the Stila Liquid Eyeshadow. It’s also cheaper than the Pudaier Liquid Eyeshadow as well, although the e.l.f. line comes in less colors. This silver eyeshadow shade is called Disco Queen.

Elf Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow Disco Queen 2

Similar to most metallic liquid eyeshadows on the market, it comes with a doe foot applicator.

Elf Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow Disco Queen 3

The color is definitely very metallic! It looks like sheer glitter in the dark, but in the light, reflects pure metallic silver. This is a new fun piece to my collection.

Elf Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow Disco Queen 4

As you can see, I like to add the liquid eyeshadow to the center of my lid. It creates what is called a halo eye, and is a makeup look that I really enjoy. In fact, I would now call it my signature look!

And there you have it! I definitely recommend this eyeshadow!

(In case you were wondering, I am also wearing Maybelline’s The City Mini Palette in Chill Brunch Neutrals.)

I Adore… Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Spice Eyeshadow Palette!

Rimmel MagnifEyes Spice Edition Eyeshadow Palette 1

From my recent shopping trip, I decided to try out a new eyeshadow palette by Rimmel. I bought it along with a liquid lipstick.

There are several Rimmel Magnif’Eyes eyeshadow palettes. I chose the Spice Edition. You can buy it on Amazon for $7.97.

Rimmel MagnifEyes Spice Edition Eyeshadow Palette 2

I love the shades in this palette. They are warm browns, rose golds and a couple of plums. Perfect for my hair and eye color!

A couple of the mattes are a little patchy, as you can see in the swatch picture. But overall the mattes are buttery. And the metallics! They are so pigmented and reflective!

Here is a look I created from the eyeshadow palette.

Pucker Up with … Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip!

Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip Color It Girl 1

I decided to pick up a couple Rimmel makeup products, as my Ibotta app was offering coupons for them. One of the items I picked up was a liquid lipstick. The other was an eyeshadow palette.

Today I am reviewing the Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip Color in the shade It Girl.

Based on the name, I was expecting this product to be a pigmented gloss. It ended up being a matte liquid lipstick, which was strange.

That said, the formula is super comfortable. It doesn’t feel drying at all, unlike most liquid lipsticks I have tried.

Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip Color It Girl 2

I love the color. It’s a wonderful, gingery nude, which works well with my hair color. Overall I am pleased with my purchase!
