Empties: Whole Blends Honey Treasures Shampoo & Conditioner.

Whole Blends Honey Treasures

I tried a new shampoo and conditioner set: Whole Blends Honey Treasures by Garnier. I loved it! To start with, the smell is heavenly. I feel like I’m drenched in honey and cream, but in a good way. I love the lather of the shampoo, and the slip of the conditioner. My hair looks soft, healthy and shiny after use.

When I went into my hair stylist, she told me that my hair was super healthy! In the past, I have used a variety of shampoos, from Herbal Essence to Matrix, and this is by far my favorite.

Since I liked the Whole Blends Honey Treasures shampoo and conditioner, I decided to try the Whole Blends Smoothing Shampoo with Cocoa Butter and Coconut Oil. So far, I still like the Honey Treasures shampoo better. That said, I will give you an update once I finish the bottles, like I did with this one.

(This post is not sponsored and I purchased the products myself. All opinions are my own.)

Meet an Indie Beauty Company: ReeRee’s Bath Bombs

1) What inspired you to start a bath bomb business?

I love taking baths and I love using bath bombs. I have bought a ridiculous number of bath bombs and have enjoyed every single one of them. One day, one of my youtube channels gave a tutorial for making homemade bath bombs. I used that recipe, tweaking it along the way, to make bath bombs for Christmas presents and for Easter baskets. My family and friends loved them. I then decided that since I enjoy it so much, I would start to sell them. Now my hobby has grown into a business I love.
2) What is your favorite part of creating bath bombs?
My favorite part is designing the look and smell of each bath bomb. I have several themed bath bombs, including Unicorn and Mermaid Tail. Coming up with the concept and then making it is so much fun!
3) Why do you think self care and pampering is important?
I believe self care is vital for mental and emotional well-being. We constantly have to give of ourselves: to our job, to our family, to our chores, and so on. However, people are like wells. You can give of yourself only so much before you run dry. That is where self care comes in. Self care and pampering refill your well. Bath bombs and shower steamers are a simple and easy way to take time for yourself and refill your well.

Ona Restaurant Review

ona3

Brr, the weather is cold and windy today -I think it’s time for another summer post!

While Ben and I were at my family reunion trip in Yachats, Oregon, we went to the Ona Restaurant & Lounge.

The waiter was friendly, and gave great suggestions on entrees to try.

I ordered some Oregon Dungeoness Crab Cakes -they were amazing! The crab in them was so fresh. Also, I loved that the crab was the featured star -the crab cakes weren’t mostly stuffed with breading and other fillers.

Ben got the McK Ranch burger and said it was great. He loved the taste and the size of the burger. He wasn’t too impressed with the fries, but then, we have spent quite a bit of time in Idaho. 🙂

Kelly, Ross and Audrey -my awesome sister, her man and adorable baby -went with us too. We had loads of fun together. I held my  adorable niece as often as I could. 🙂

All in all, it was a great dining experience. ❤

My Word of the Year for 2017

2017wordofyear

Sometimes it is best to be fashionably late. For me, that is starting new years resolutions. When I start new goals, I like to have a practice month, where I figure out what I’m doing. So, I spent all of January conceptualizing and working on my goals for the year (which I will share in just a few moments). I decided that finding a word of the year would help focus my efforts.

Inspiration

I was inspired by Tonya Leigh’s blog post, “My Surprising Word of the Year: and Inspiration to Help You Find Yours.”

In this post, She challenged us to find our own concept for the year – not just fashion brands, but also places, animals, and other tangible things to represent the year. I thought this was a wonderful idea. Rather than choose a vague adjective, choose something you can visualize.

It took me over a year to decide on a tangible word of the year, but I finally found it. 💛

And the Word of the Year Is…

katespade

I settled on two words, but one brand -Kate Spade.  To me, Kate Spade New York is whimsical and timeless at the same time. It is elegance and joie de vivre.

For 2017, I have two main goals, which are represented well by the two Kate Spade perfumes:

Goal #1: Live Colorfully

livecolor

To me, this means to be happy. Live life in color, not in dreaded drudgery. To seek out new experiences, and discover everything that gives me vibrancy. To bring more joy and delight to those around me, by finding joy inside me.

Goal #2: Walk On Air

walkonair

Walk On Air sounds like magic.  I imagine traveling to far away places, without a care in the world. I see winding trails, daring adventures, excitement, and confidence. Basically, I want to gain the confidence to seize adventure and opportunity.

What’s your word of the year?

Hot Cookie Mama

While at Support the Badge for one of my Mandalorian Mercenary events, I found a new treasure -Hot Cookie Mama! I love the cute little pink caboose -it was the fun color that drew my attention first. I couldn’t help but take a peek.

They have lots of fun types of cookies, and ice-cream treats as well. The prices are more than fair, and the food delicious.

I had one of the gourmet chocolate cookies, and as you can tell I loved it. 🙂 Next time I want to try the Granola Muncher or the Tree Hugger cookie.

I can’t wait to see the Hot Cookie Mama booth at the next fair or event!
