I Adore…NYX Matte Lip in Natural!

My Walmart now stocks NYX products, so I was excited to try out one of their matte lipsticks. I chose the shade Natural.

Natural is a pretty mauve color -one of my favorite lipstick shades to wear.

The formula is creamy and easy to work with. I like that it feels nice on the lips -it has a matte finish without being drying. It has a wear time of 5 hours as long as you don’t eat anything, like your typical lipstick.

One trick is to make your lipstick stay on longer is to blot your lips with a tissue after applying. This will create a pretty lip stain.

I’m excited to try more shades from this line!

You can buy the NYX Matte Lipstick in Natural for $2.99 on Amazon.

XOXO,

Dana Maye 💚

Sparkle and Shine With… Physician’s Formula Butter Highlighter!

One of the newest additions to my makeup routine is using highlighter. I love the shine it gives to my cheekbones. Today’s post is about the Butter Highlighter by Physician’s Formula in the shade Pearl.

It’s a warm white color and looks natural on my skin tone. I love to use it on the high points of my cheekbones, right under my brow bone and the inner corners of my eyes. It gives a natural glow. It’s not metallic or glittery which is nice for natural looks (although I like metallic highlights too.)

As you can tell, I have already hit pan on this highlighter, because I love it so much. ❤️ You can buy the Physician’s Formula Butter Highlighter in Pearl on Amazon for $4.38.

What I Think About… Rosen Apothecary Collagen Body Lotion!

I wanted to share with you a body lotion that I love. I bought it at TJ Maxx for $8, but you can find it on Amazon for $16.99. The bottle is 32 ounces, which is a great price per ounce at either price.

This lotion works great for reducing redness and razor burn after shaving my legs, which is what I primarily bought it for. It is a medium strength lotion and works well in the summer and fall for skin hydration.

I didn’t notice any firming, but then I wasn’t expecting any change.

Overall, Rosen Apothecary’s Collagen Body Lotion is a great lotion, and I definitely recommend it.

Nice and Natural… Maybelline Baby Lips!

I recently bought a new lip product. It’s a classic -the Maybelline Baby Lips in the shade Cherry Me. I am a big fan of tinted lip balms so this is perfect for me. The color is a sheer pinky red, which is fun.

I love the slip to it. It’s moisturizing, without feeling sticky, goopy, waxy or greasy.

The only thing I wish it had was some SPF in the formula, but that’s okay. I can layer it with an SPF lip balm when going outside.

Makeup Worn:

  • L’Oréal Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation
  • Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
  • Milani Silky Matte Bronzer
  • Milani Rose Powder Blush
  • CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara
  • Urban Decay 24 Hour Eyeliner
  • Two Faced Pineapple Paradise Highlight/Bronzer
  • Fenty MVP Brow Pencil
  • Physician’s Formula Butter Highlight

Staying Safe In the Sun… Paula’s Choice Sunscreen!

I finally found a sunscreen that I enjoy wearing. Most are sticky and greasy, and run into my eyes. This one is much better.

It does give a glowy, subtle shimmer to the skin, so it’s not completely matte. That said, it’s not overly shiny. It goes well under makeup, and doesn’t sting my eyes or cause breakouts. It applies and blends easily into my skin.

I like that’s it’s SPF 50, water resistant and has antioxidants in the formula.

It is a little pricey -$17 for 5 ounces on Amazon. That said, I am willing to spend a little more on a sunscreen I will actually wear. Plus treatments for skin cancer cost a lot more!

Remember to wear your SPF!

Fantastic Sale… Bath and Body Works Travel Size Body Mists!

I love purchasing mini perfumes from Bath and Body Works! That way, I can try as many scents as possible.

This weekend, they are discounted down to $3.50 each. A typical sale is $4 each, and full retail price is $6.50. When I saw the sale, I had pick up a couple and bring them home with me!

Champagne Apple & Honey smells like a robust mix between red apples, cherries and champagne. It is an amazing scent, and reminds me of orchard picking when Ben and I lived in Rexburg. I’m wearing this one right now!

Gingham reminds me of wildflowers and fresh squeezed orange juice. It also reminds of picking oranges with Ben at his childhood home in Santa Barbara. I love it when scent helps evoke cherished memories.

While I didn’t purchase them, I also liked Pretty As A Peach, Wild Blackberry Vanilla and Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte.

Take A Peek At My October Empties!

It’s empties time again! I love sharing what products I use up, and what I think of them. Without further ado, let’s dive in!

L’Oréal Sleek It Iron Heat Spray

Price: $3.97, Amazon

This is my second bottle of this heat protection spray. It works well in keeping my hair from getting damaged when I blow dry my hair. For the price, I think this works great!

Verdict: A Beauty Must Have!

Maybelline Snapscara

Price: $5.84, Amazon

This mascara is supposed to be easy to put on and easy to take off. Sadly, neither was the case. The wand was awkward to use, and I had to scrub just as hard to take off. The volume was decent, but lashes didn’t hold a curl.

Verdict: Bottom of the Waste Basket!

Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

Price: $9.99, Walmart

I definitely liked this mascara much better. I like the wand, and the formula gives good length. That said, there’s not a lot of volume. It’s not surprising considering it’s advertised as a lengthening mascara. I love to layer it with L’Oréal Paradise or Two Faced Better Than Sex mascara. On its own, it’s average.

Verdict: Meh… It’s Okay

L’Oréal Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation

Price: $11.97, Walmart

I am on my second bottle of this foundation. It makes my skin look smooth and lasts all day. Plus I love the SPF 25 in it.

Verdict: A Beauty Must Have!

Juicy Couture Perfume

Price: $58, Ulta

This scent is a classic. It smells sweet and fruity, which are my favorite notes in a perfume. Ben says I smell like peaches when I wear it. I like varying my perfumes, so I will be buying something else next time. That said, it’s a good choice.

Verdict: Not Too Shabby!

Pudaier Glitter Liquid Eyeshadow

Price: $5, Wish

I love this so much that I already bought a replacement. It has a punch of glitter and looks great layered with other eyeshadows. You can read a more in-depth beauty review here.

Verdict: A Beauty Must Have!

Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment

Price: $59 (Full Size), Sephora

I got this sample for my birthday as a Sephora beauty insider member last year. This mask is spendy, but does do a pretty good job at spot treating acne. I can’t use it as a full face mask, as it irritates my skin. So there is that…

Verdict: Not Too Shabby!

Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream

Price: $68 (full size), Sephora

I also got this as a Sephora birthday present. Sadly I wasn’t impressed. It did a good job as a basic moisturizer, but nothing more. For the price, I don’t think it’s worth the money.

Verdict: Meh… It’s Okay
