It’s December now, and I’ve finally submerged from NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) -a winner! I finished my book! But anyways, my main point is to apologize for neglecting my blog, and assure you that I will be returning to the world of fashion and beauty full-force. Today’s post is about my one of my greatest loves -ball gowns.
I absolutely love ball gowns, and formal dresses of all sorts. They are so beautiful, and I wish I had an excuse to wear them every weekend (Don’t worry -I’m not totally crazy. You won’t see me wearing a prom dress to the supermarket). Unfortunately for me, I am not rich enough, or famous enough to go to balls, galas and red carpet events whenever I want (or, well… ever). This being said, that doesn’t stop me from drooling over the formal dress section of the department store, and from lusting after the latest Dolce and Gabbana lace editorial in my fashion magazines.
I do love my formal dresses though. I’m secretly wondering what excuse I could have to throw a ball/gala/dance. Perhaps a fundraiser event? Sigh. I doubt I will have one anytime soon. That being said, a girl can still dream, right? Who knows? Maybe someday I help bring balls back into style. 🙂
Shown up above is a lovely red dress made by Issa London, and costs over $1000. I certainly can’t afford it, but since I’m looking at dresses I don’t have a valid excuse to wear, why not dream big? I love the silver snakeskin heels that I picked out, and the color teal is an eternal staple in my wardrobe. The two colors of nail polish would make for a fun variation on the reverse french manicure. I can wear that out in public, at least. 🙂
